Terms of Service

Last updated · May 1, 2026

Effective: May 1, 2026

Welcome to Inner Outer Index. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Inner Outer Index website, application, and any related services (collectively, the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. About Inner Outer Index

Inner Outer Index is a personality assessment product that uses your responses to a structured questionnaire to generate a personalized written report describing patterns in how you think, decide, relate, and respond to challenges. References to “we,” “us,” “our,” or “Inner Outer Index” in these Terms refer to the operator of the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. The Service is not directed to individuals under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

3. The Service is for self-reflection, not diagnosis

This is important. Inner Outer Index is designed to help you reflect on your patterns and tendencies. It is not a medical, psychological, or psychiatric assessment, and it is not designed, validated, or intended to:

  • Diagnose any mental health condition, personality disorder, or psychological state
  • Replace consultation with a licensed therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, or other qualified professional
  • Inform clinical, legal, hiring, custody, insurance, or other consequential decisions about you or anyone else
  • Predict behavior, performance, compatibility, or outcomes in any specific context

If you are experiencing distress or have concerns about your mental health, please contact a qualified professional.

4. Your responses and the report

When you complete the assessment, you provide responses (“Inputs”) that the Service uses to generate a personalized report (“Report”). You retain ownership of your Inputs. We may use Inputs and Reports to operate, improve, and develop the Service, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

You may share your Report. The Service may include features that make sharing easier, including downloadable image files. You are responsible for what you choose to share.

5. Our content

Inner Outer Index, including the assessment design, scoring methodology, identity framework, copy, visual design, and Service features, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial purposes.

You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, distribute, publish, or commercially exploit any part of the Service except your own Report
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the assessment scoring logic, prompts, or algorithms
  • Use the Service to build a competing product
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service except as expressly permitted
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or attempt to gain unauthorized access

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent responses with intent to manipulate or test the Service
  • Take the assessment on behalf of another person without their knowledge and consent
  • Harass, harm, or impersonate others
  • Violate any applicable law

7. Account and access

The Service does not currently require an account. We may collect your email address to deliver your Report and send service-related communications, as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms.

8. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers, including AI providers used to generate parts of your Report. Use of these third parties is governed by their own terms and privacy practices. See our Privacy Policy for the current list of sub-processors.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT THE REPORT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR USEFUL FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

You acknowledge that personality assessments have inherent limitations, that responses can be influenced by mood, context, and self-perception, and that any insights from the Service are best treated as one input among many in your own self-reflection.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL SIGNAL, ITS OPERATORS, AGENTS, OR LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations on liability, so some of the above may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Inner Outer Index and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another.

12. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may modify the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms; material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email when reasonable. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect.
